Our Farm's History

Annual Spring Fiber Day at the Farm

Our farm and fiber day is a wonderful way to get introduced to these attractive and special animals. Everyone who attended our farm and fiber day on June 8th had a fabulous, informative time. They met our animals, often quite intimately, and experienced our alpaca fiber and sheep fleeces first hand. Many questions were asked and answers given about alpacas as farm animals and pets; their care and temperaments, and much was learned about alpaca fiber, from shearing to finished product. Many local spinners and weavers came to purchase fiber and share their knowledge of blending, fiber care and processing. Good food and good company made the day enjoyable for all.

Annual Participation at the
Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival in the Fall

For the past several years, our farm has participated in the Dutchess County Sheep and Wool Festival held on the fairgrounds in Rhinebeck, New York. generally, the third weekend of October. Last year, we had three of our animals there for children and adults alike to meet and get to know...Many enjoyed a great photo opportunity. We have fiber products made locally by artisans as well as wonderful products made from our alpaca fiber by a talented weaver in Oregon, all for sale. We also have top raw alpaca fleeces available as well as pencil roving. Our family and friends enjoy demonstrating how alpaca fiber is spun both on hand spindles and on a spinning wheel.
