Shiraz Vintage (ARI #Pending) male, was born on December 12, 2005 to Wilpaca’s Sophia (ARI #802895) (See full description) our toffee-colored foundation female. Shiraz’ sire is Maple Brook Hummer (ARI #176341), a blue ribbon winner and champion son of Maple Brook Bueno (ARI # 117889), one of the top bloodlines in the country. Shiraz is named after the wonderfully aromatic deep red wine of the same name and is Sophia’s fifth cria born on our farm. His fiber is reminiscent of his mother’s with its gorgeous handing, long staple length, luster and fine crimp. Although we don’t conduct a formal micron count until 18 months of age at a minimum, Shiraz’ fiber fineness and density is readily apparent. Once he matures, he will be bred for strong confirmation, dark color and high quality fleece.
